Our Process
Our Inspection Process
Equipment
Aquatrace Swimming Pool and Spa Leak Detection Technicians are trained in the utilization of a specialized set of equipment that isolates and determines the exact location of your leak through non-invasive technology.
Their training and experience to properly assess the conditions of your pool and spa environment, allows them to determine the exact water loss conditions that are present without any structural deconstruction.
Water Loss Confirmation
Establishing a Baseline
Prior to the commencement of testing, Aquatrace measures and documents the amount of water loss that is occurring while taking into account the evaporation index for the day.
Once this baseline has been established, testing to locate the water loss area can begin.
After testing and any included repairs are completed, a final measurement is gathered to verify that the water loss is in line with the expected evaporation.
Reservoir Inspection
Pool and Spa Basin / Structure
The basin or structure of your pool will be tested using an electronic system that allows our technician to precisely identify where the water loss is occurring.
The technician may enter the pool with SCUBA equipment as required and perform additional visual and dye testing inspections. Photographs are taken underwater to document any potential and current issues that are present.
Pressure Testing
Filtration Equipment and Plumbing Systems
A complete pressure test of the filtration system along with the entire plumbing system will verify the integrity of these systems.
Should the pressure test fail, Aquatrace will identify and document the damaged area under concrete, earth or other landscaping as required.
Audible Survey
Listening to the Problem
On occasion, we come across the unfortunate scenario of a damaged plumbing line underground.
Many times, these locations are buried under the decking that surrounds the pool. By utilizing a combination of water, air and specialized listening devices, we can hear where the damaged plumbing is located.
This locating method saves a significant amount of money by isolating and minimizing the excavation area.
The Findings
Not All Leak Problems Are Created Equal
Once the Aquatrace Technician has located the problem, we will provide our consultation and recommendation to help you find and secure the most cost effective repair solution.
In the event a simple repair can be implemented to resolve the water loss issue, Aquatrace will provide epoxy and vinyl repairs as needed at no additional charge. Warranties for these repairs may be provided individually per conditions.
